well - no easy to explain.
Since about 4 weeks my shelly plug s plus seem to reboot (or do something else) at different times. I can only see that they are blinking about twice in red. Maybe again blinking twice in red and sometimes after this two times in green.
I have no idea what is happening. Using debug does not help as with the “reboot” the log is deleted.
Is there someone else who has the same problem?
I made a dedicated wlan for the shellies, checked the bluetooth and other features - nothing helps.
I think it’s reconnecting to your WiFi, check your router logs for device reconnects.
I had a similar issue and it turned out that I had to move my USB3 devices further away from my router.
USB3 devices and Router?
Regarding WLAN issue i am with you. But i can not change the distance as all devices seems to be affected and the placement of the wlan routers is optimized to cover the whole building.
Is this issue caused by firmware or why does the device reconnect?
for me it was clearly an issue of my wifi setup
thx. could you give more details about what was wrong or what you changed?
for me disabling USB3 in my Fritzbox router fixed the issue, I could see the reconnects in the Fritzbox log before, and after the change everything was fine
strange - i do not have fritzbox but omada controlled tp-link routers. so there’S no usb option that could cause the problem …
Maybe the problem is with 2,4 and 5 GHz having the same ssid - i will change this.
Hi,
Is BLE support enabled on this device?
I’m having a similar problem and I noticed that if I turn off BLE, the problem goes away.
i thought i disabled it but on two devices where i have this issue it was enabled. I changed this to test.
Regarding my last post - separating the WLAN SSID’s for 2.4 an 5 GHz did not solve the issue.
maybe i found a reason for the issue. My two AP’s in the house were set to 20 dBm Tx Power (EIRP). In the log i could see that the shelly devices were roaming between the two AP’s regulary. This is matching to what i watched. Somehow the transmit power was to high and the shelly devices “thought” the’d have to switch to a different AP. The blinking matches the roaming events in the ap’s log.
Well - not sure how to fix this. I lowered the Tx Power to 12 dBm to test. Let’s wait and see…
funny - i was not aware of this but i am quite sure it will fix my issue.
I this a new feature?
Thank you very much.
