Is there a WiFi relay alternative to the Shellys? Whilst their relays are working well behind 3 lights I have, the gate/wiring seems to cause the relay to go offline (i’ve tried two) so I’m wondering if there is an alternative that’ll work with HA? I’d prefer not to go to Zigbee but I can do if there isn’t.
By offline, are they dropping from the HA because the WiFi signal maybe weak (distance) or interference issue caused by a heavy duty motor on a gate operator. Or the device mounted in metal enclosure?
You can still keep them in eco mode on with very strong connectivity if you log into them over the web interface on the local network and the set either Outbound Websocket to “Default TLS” as “ws:///api/shelly/ws”, or under advanced / developer options to enable “ColoT” with “:5683”.
All relays take one of those two settings (Outbound Websockets or Advance/Developer settings->ColoT). Note, everything should have a static IP addresses assigned by your DHCP server.
I did have some connectivity issues early on but that was many moons ago and when I used one of those two settings on my relays any and all connectivity issues went away - and the number of shellys on my property has gone up in about the last 6 months by about 20. Has been rock solid ever since. Once of the relays is even oin a standalone garage next to the home (and there are no access points in the garage)…
