Shelly, wifi vs Matter

Hi there

I’ve recently installed two Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 behind rocker switches. Works like a charm.
Now, I’ve used the wifi connection to connect them. That’s fine and dandy and they were automatically discovered in HA. But I’m uncertain if I’m missing out using wifi rather than setting up Matter? I haven’t got anything else that uses Matter.

What would I gain setting up Matter and connecting them that way?

keep using wifi shelly API is excelent

for matter as z-wave or zigbee you need a mesh if you only have one will be unreliable and is not complete you will only expose on/off the basic control
