We shop in different shops. Would be nice to have an additional field to indicate which to get it from and be able to group by this field.
You could use a todo list instead, which allows to add a description (and due date/time) to each item. But grouping the items by their description 
I think using different lists for different stores is the better choice in this case

Yeah the Shopping List is essentially a To-Do list under the hood. But you can have multiple of the latter, so we have a separate list for each main store we shop at.
However in the end I think it’s quite limited and sooner or later you are going to need some other feature, and… (well I guess that’s a topic for another post)… But something I have been thinking about for a long time (and may build some day).
It is handy in the sense that it is a central place where everyone can contribute to from their phone, wall tablet, voice assistant, whatever.
