Show devices in home zone on map

Devices within 100 metres of home zone are not shown on map.
I would like to make that a toggle. When I am away from home I cannot see what devices are in or near my home, my car for example.

Or is that allready changeble?
I this moment I set my home to a place nearby but thats a solution I do not prefer.

1.Do not forget to vote for your own FR.

2.Please elaborate - what devices do you mean?
Map shows entities which contain coords.
If some “device_tracker” has a state “home” & no coords - then it is not shown on a map.
Assume a “person” has 2 trackers associated - gps-based (with coords) & router-based (no coords). When a person is home & a corr. router-based “device_tracker” is “home” - then a corr. “person” entity is updated based on this tracker - and got no coords.

It’s the default behavior of the map panel (in the sidebar), that entities with known locations are hidden if they are in the home zone. Not sure why that was done but the panel is coded explicitly to hide them.

I would say if you don’t like that, you can delete the map panel on the dashboard, make a new dashboard, make a 1-card view, insert a map card, and add your entities to it. That won’t have this special behavior.

didn’t think of that. thanks

After the upgrade to 2025.2.X the devices that are in home zone are displayed.
Before that all the devices that were in the home zone were not displayed.
Is this something that has changed?

You are right, but I have no explanation.

Yes, this is something that has changed recently, and will be worked on further to make it better. I just posted a discussion on github about it.

Just responded on GitHub as well. The update made an unfortunate mess of my map (not hiding entities @ HOME).

+1 for me for resetting to how it was (ideally in the next 2025.2.x update) and then redesigning/improving go-forward.
