Simulate wall mount

Hello guys…silly question,
So I am a complete newbie who had undergone the steep learning curve of HA and finally I feel comfortable enough to purchase a wall mount galaxy tab .
Is there a way to see how my current built dashboard (made on my laptop) will look like on 11 inch screen before I buy the tablet?

I have spent a fair amount of time building this dashboard to my liking and I would really like to be prepared if I will redo everything on the tablet

Set your pc video resolution to the one that the tablet has and see what happens…

Modern browser like Firefox or Chromium based ones have such a function integrated. :raised_hands:

For Firefox that would be the repsonsive design mode

https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/devtools-user/responsive_design_mode/

That will be mostly not helpful because of things like pixel desinity/ratio :person_shrugging:

In my case it worked so maybe my device had squared pixel…

That’s kind a hard to belive. Can only think that if you have a very bad resolution on your tablet and a very high one on your screen… or maybe your screen is the same size as your tablet - then your approach will work

You misunderstood! You can open the linked Wikipedia article to know more…:bulb:

For example we have a 42 inch screen that has a lower resolution than a 6 inch phone. Think about how small (unreadable) things would be if we would follow your logic :pinched_fingers:

Never sait it was a retina display. In fact 1200x800 is not an uncommon resolution on cheap tablet.
I’ll never spend much money for a screen nailed to a wall to display weather forecast, room temperatures and light switches

I’ll try to read the doc you linked
