Single Appliance Power Moitoring

I recently installed a Sem Meter Power Monitor in my main panel. It’s providing some good intel that I’m starting to use to cut back on power consumption and do some automation.

I have run into one issue though that I haven’t found a solution for. Many of the circuits in my house are wildly random in what they power so that isolating which items on a given breaker are the big power consumers is a little challenging. In a couple cases I have smart plugs that include power monitoring. That’s great for non critical loads but I have a few appliances, like my second freezer in the basement, that I want to monitor however, it seems like a bad idea to use a smart plug for that where an accidental off command would lead to the loss of the freezer contents.

Does anyone make a plug based on otherwise single circuit smart power monitor that will integrate with HA that does not have a switch function?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Tom G.

I had a smart plug doing similar with an automation. if the switch switched off, turn it on. I eventually swapped it out for a shelly PM.
This sounds like it may fit your bill:

Well it might but you can also monitor plug or outlet on/off state and create automations that will notify you if the plug/outlet changed state to off and turn it back on. I have two freezers on smart plug/outlet for years now and didnt have any problems with that.

Narrow down your search by looking for a plug that is suitably rated for your load.

Try to further narrow down your search to plugs with a child lock feature. This will disable the physical switch on your plugs.

Disable or hide the switch entity in HA. This will prevent switching off your plugs via software.
