Sleep Number Bed Integration

Greetings,

My wife and I went to spend the weekend with my daughter. When we returned yesterday, the bed was offline. I recycled the power and the bed came back online, but many of the entities previously available are no longer functional.

I'm guessing they did a software update. This affects a number of automations I had set up for the bed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Check the the Home Assistant logs. See if there is any error related to the Sleep Number integration.

No errors in the logs under sleepiq.

Did you restart home assistant?

LOL!

Whenever my wife says her computer is acting up, my first question is: "Have you restarted it?".

That seems to have resolved the issue.

Thank you.

It'll happen again, the API has been prone to disconnects as of late.

Interesting. Thank you.

There has been a lot of "discussion" about the financial stability of Sleep Number as a company on reddit. I know this means less than nothing, but what if SN went Tango Uniform?

Is there any way to communicate with the bed without their system? As indicated, I've got several automations for my bed, that I've gotten very used to having....

Overall I am disappointed in the long term quality of the bed. I was a huge fan at first, but the product failed quite rapidly with both the mattress bladders and the foam surround.

I haven't explored this avenue, but local BT commands may be possible vs their connected platform. I'll do some testing!

Well,

Touch wood, ours has been good. We've had it over 10 years without issue, other than the hamfisted movers.

Thank you for your efforts.

Lolz. It happens to my wifi router also. Good to know that at least we found a temporary solution here. I hope they will look into this matter and debug the API to solve this random disconnection issue.

Ok,

Silly question. Assuming this was possible, what BT device would talk to the bed? One of those cute little M5Stack Official ATOMS3 Lite ESP32S3 doo-hickeys?
