Hi I have one of these that is occasionally crashing in a holiday home and creating many problems. I have it set up as bluetooth but cant recall any reminder to update in over a year (since I set uup as BT proxy) I therefore want to turn off BT and just get it into HA properly. I cannot navigate to it though, IP or http://slzb-06m.local/ also does’nt work, etc. Any advice appreciated.
Ensure the ethernet is connected and use http://slzb-06m or the device’s actual IP.
If that doesn’t work do a hard reset by turning on the device with the button pressed. When the LEDs start to flash, release the button.
I can see it on ESP - I no longer want the Bluetooth Proxy on it, I guess the real question is how do I put it back to just a standard Zigbee hub?
You are going to have to flash it via USB. See below
There is no web-interface for ESPHome based firmware!
If you use ESPHome firmware, for your Z2M or ZHA settings, use the device’s IP address and port “6638” and “baudrate 115200” for Zigbee and baudrate “460800” for Matter-over-Thread.
To get back to the current web interface from ESPHome firmware, you need to flash SLZB-06 via USB cable using this tool: https://smlight.tech/flasher/
More information can be found in the User manual: SLZB-06 * Series User manual
I have done it several times. Works fine!
Thanks so if I re-flash it will I lose my connected devices or will it pick them back up after? Thanks for advice.
So I understand, it’s not set to BT proxy only, but rather set to BT proxy + Zigbee?
A hard reset will wipe previous ZigBee connected devices
Yes it is a BT proxy and Zigbee. I have a spare Slzb, perhaps possible to move devices to new router?
I’ve always understood it as a full wipe is necessary once set to a BT Proxy.
Give me a few minutes, I’ll test that theory…
Unfortunately after enabling the BT proxy + Zigbee, there is no longer an option to access the device via the SLZB UI. I had to re-flash the firmware via a USB cable and the https://smlight.tech/flasher/
Are you using ZHA or Z2M and what is your HA Installation method ?
The IEEE for the coordinator will be your biggest hurdle for a transfer with the M. With the CC2652P adapters you can literally remove the old device and plug in the new SLZB. The Ms don’t have that ability.
How many ZigBee device would you need to re-pair?
I have about a dozen so not end of the world and am on ZHA. Seems crazy only option is to wipe. Ill reach out to support.
It does seem ridiculous. They highlighted it in the manual and again in the UI when you click the Bluetooth proxy mode enable button.
This is an essential step…
Make sure CP2102 driver installed
Yep. Appreciate help. Seems ill have to start from scratch. Surprised you cant backup and restore to new device though.
You may be able to via HA, but the M is a pain from my experience. I have quite a few different types of the the SLZBs. I always push folks towards the TI chips. Way more dynamic…
Thanks very much for help.
