SLZB setup

Hi, I just received my Ultima 3. NOT IMPRRESSED - I cannot connect to the device - no DHCP allocation via WiFi or E’net; no “.local” connection (mDNS is running), no 192.168.1.1 connection.
On power up (via rear USBC), ALL green lights come on almost immediately, no blue no nothing, just all green. I suspect the device is not booting??
If I try a reflash holding the 1st button down and applying power - NOTHING happens, no lights, nothing.
I’m not that up on these devices and the manuals are all but useless, I can’t even find what the normal sequence of LEDs is on startup.
Can anyone with a working device give me aheads up what should happen when you power the thing up please? At least I will know if I have a dud. Or if I should try to reflash the bios - bound to be a cluster for me considering the lack of detail available. Thanks

I know nothing about that thing, but have you found this? SMLIGHT SLZB - Home Assistant

When you plug it into Ethernet, do the link lights come on and stay on?

Have you checked your DHCP server’s (usually the router) hosts table to find the IP?

I have an SLZB-06P7 and Ethernet worked immediately.

I use mine on ethernet (needs USB power unless you install the PoE component) and that worked fine.

If you use WiFi then to set that up you need to connect to its access point: SLZB-06 I think and go to http://192.168.1.1 to setup the WiFi client.

Hi, Mine is Ultima 3, and not POE - if I plug into ethernet, then power via the rear SUB C, all the green lights immediatly come on. The E’net port shows activity, not necessarily connecting with anything. Somewhere I saw that it should go through a boot process with blue lights flash along the line then one green led goes green; I cannot see it in my DHCP list, but as it has no MAC address shown on the case, I cannot be sure. It does not ping 192.168.1.1, nor does the web .local do anything.

Tried WiFi and wired E’net. Does yours go through a boot process with blue lights or whatever? Mine goes almost immediatly to all green across the face of the device on power up.

Thanks all for replies - it is now working - I think I have been misled by expecting the LED’s on the unit to indicate a boot process of some seconds. It appears the LEDs are just dumb LED’s and tell you buggar all. Tonight I did an IP scan - a new MAC address showed up. From there to HA and the device was showing up. I updated firmwares, changed to fixed IP !! It boots quite quickly it seems and I was not expecting that either. Thanks again

Glad you got it! When you say:

what do you mean?

Glad you got it working! Was about to say I turned off WLED so I have no lights.

If you have mDNS working then you should be able to access it with: http://slzb-ultima3.local/

The 192.168.1.1 address is only valid if it’s not connected to ethernet and you’ve connected your phone/laptop to the SLZB’s access point.
