So my wife has started hinting that we need new blinds, currently they are old vertical blinds and I kind of agree with her.
We have a large home with 22 windows so I need to find something that wont break the bank.
Unfortunately IKEA smart blinds don’t seem to be available here (I don’t know why). At least one of the windows is really difficult to get to, so a wired version or perhaps solar powered version would be handy for that one.
Ultimately I would love privacy blinds and block-out for each. Has anyone got recommendations in the western side of Melbourne?
Should I just buy some cheaper blinds and add the motors separately? If so what motors are recommended at a decent price?
With the RFX-433EMC MQTT, available in Australia, you control blinds motors in HA.
For example Somfy RTS, Dooya, Ozroll, A-OK and more. The full list is in the RFX MQTT User Guide
I use Zemismart motors to smartify normal blinds, so the collection of choices are bigger.
They have ready.made blinds too if you so desire.
They can deliver with WiFi, Zigbee or Matter with either WiFi or Thread as protocols.
They are battery powered, but solar panels are available and the charging cable can just be left in to have it mains powered.
I originally looked for offers on Eve Motion Blinds, but ZemiSmart popped up instead and the price was quite a bit lower.
PS: Remember to order a remote too, because it is needed to set the stops for the blind.
I bought them from the link I posted.
There were a discount code at the top of the page and I only needed 3, so it was cheaper on their site, but it looks like ZemiSmart have a sale on AliExpress at the moment.
