Long time HA amateur, first time poster.
We’ve just moved into a new place which has been freshly wired with Candeo RD1-Pro smart dimmers. These dimmers are set in remote mode such that the bulbs always have power and the dimmers control them using Zigbee commands. I have dimmable smart bulbs which I wish to pair with the dimmers in 1-to-1 and 1-to-many (groups). I am starting basic with a 1-to-1 configuration with Zigbee2mqtt:
(NB: I previously tried ZHA which was much more straightforward from a UI perspective but I understand Z2M is more feature rich and possibly supports more hardware).
All I want to do is control the light from the switch: on/off (press) and rotary dimming for brightness. For some reason there’s very little information online on how to achieve this. I’ve tried to bind directly which worked with ZHA but doesn’t seem to want to with Z2M. I also found this was a big jerky when it did work. I want the lights to be as smooth and as fast as possible.
Can someone advice on the best approach to connecting the switch to the light in a reliable fashion?
