Does anyone have the Oura Ring to use as a presence tracker? I’ve been looking for a smart ring for a while, mainly for NFC automations. Then I started to look into presence sensors, and now I’m thinking about just using smartwatches and rings. I’m holding out for the Samsung ring to compare to anything else anyone can recommend. What do people have, and do they work?
Hey, I’ve been testing the colmi and another cheap temu ring and they both seem to work well as a ble beacon in espresence. To get the mac Id I used their native apps to discover them and just added them to my HA config as beacons.
As it is, they only act as beacons when they’re not paired to any other app and they loose all functionality except broadcasting their Mac address so they’re purely beacons. I’m playing around with esphome to see if I can get some functionality back but I’m having trouble working out what codes to send as queries. Any, hope that helps somehow
