SMART Sniffer v5.3: now standby-aware, with agent connectivity monitoring

New to SMART Sniffer?

It sniffs your drives for S.M.A.R.T. attribute data and exposes real HA entities via a custom integration.

One-line install on Linux, Mac, Windows, or HAOS App from HACS. Auto-discovers over mDNS. Backblaze-based failure prediction, not pass/fail.

Here’s what v5.3 adds to the sniff…

Standby-aware polling Agent checks drive power state before scanning. Sleeping drives get skipped and served from cache. Installer offers to enable when spinning drives are detected.

Agent connectivity sensor Real Connected/Disconnected binary sensor per agent. Automate on it. Diagnostic dashboard shows version, last seen, IP, port, scan interval, and auth status inside HA.

Stale data indicators Sleeping drives show when data was last refreshed. Live or cached, you always know.

Already sniffing? Update integration via HACS, re-run the agent installer.
