Hi guys,
I would really like to re-work my home lights to smart but seems to be really tricky :-/
My electro installation:
- I have no neutral wire in the wall (behind switch)
- I have all me light bulbs Ikea Ledare with socket GX53 (so not so easy if even possible to replace with smart GX53 bulbs
What I would like to have:
- wifi switch no neutral
- switch to be “clickable” not touch
- tasmota support
and to find wifi switch with no neutral needed which is clickable it really adventure. I am starting to think it is impossible. I had browse sooo many local, to ebay to aliexpress pages …
I would like to avoid zigbee and I am affraid it could be less reliable compared to wifi.
I found this - Tuya Wifi Switch Smart Light Switch Remote Push Button Switch RF Wireless Relay receiver AC110V 220V,Work with Amazon Alexa|Switches| - AliExpress
it could be alternative. wifi module under the ceiling, 433MHZ switch on the wall, but I would need to have that wifi module tasmota compatible.
Do anybody of you have any suggestions or advice for me and my requirements?
Thousands thanks to you
Have you looked at Shelly? I think you can flash tasmota but you don’t really need to, the integration is good.
They use your existing switches. No neutral required for the 1L
Depending on how confident you are, you might need an electrician to install.
Thanks kjjordans,
so you mean Shelly 1L (Shelly 1L | Shelly Cloud) which would be wired and placed in the box behind the wall switch (if there will be enough room for it in the box)?
Exactly. They are really small we often don’t have any wall boxes here (Australia) so there is plenty of room in the cavity.
Thanks.
Do you know if with Shelly 1L I able to control also situation when I have one switch but with 2 “buttons” on it? Like this https://ema-elektro.sk/imagethumb.php?s=images/products/774405.jpg&w=640&h=640
So I need to control from one switch 2 different lights
There are two switch inputs. But only one relay output. If you need to control two loads from the one switch plate, you will need 2 shellies.
I have one connected to a switch like this one. One of the switches was a two way switch so I can use 1 Shelly here and one at the other end.

I see. That is pitty.
Now I am wondering how to resolve this most effective way.
The double switch is controlling light and fan in my bathroom so I really do not want to wire it together. It makes no sense to turn light on whem I need to run fan and vice versa.
Maybe could be option to put shelly into box and control only light with it. In the box make permanent connection between L and L1 going to fan and break this (fan) connection under the ceiling with some other Shwlly (the same Shelly 1L or different?). And setup zigbee button pressing which would start/stop fan. Because fan will be on Shelly I will be able to do some automations in HA, e.g. if humidity is over 65% turn fan on
Hi, how about a Shelly-1L behind the switchplate and a standard Shelly-1 up in the ceiling near the fan where you can pick up a live connection.
You could wire both switch inputs of the Shelly-1L to your switches so that one controls the light and the other controls the fan’s Shelly-1 via WiFi.

You can see from my setup below that I have the second switch input disabled in HA however this could be enabled to provide an additional binary_sensor to control the fan as described above.
