Figured I would ask the community for suggestions on what smart valve’s I could use with the T-Head Style of valve handles we have here in Australia as all the ones I see online are mostly for long neck handles which are not really used here in the home setup as I would like to use at least one in the kitchen with a water leak detector as well as easier access to it using one when I do need to shut off the valve.
Are you looking for something to turn the handle or replace that valve another there or to be inline with that valve?
I would suggest you might want something inline so that you still have that T-head for manual ‘off’ control. If so, we would need to know the diameter and thread of the connector.
Prefer to turn it as it would be a big job to replace the valve unit (I have updated the image to the one installed that I need/want to use it with and will try to get measurements as well as a product page with details on it if I can).
I would need to buy the zigbee antenna so either will do; I also plan to buy a z-wave one just to have the option for those types of devices in the future (just need to order them once I get paid again).
I may have to forgo this idea of a project to implement and just do a water leak detector for now under the kitchen sink due to the lack of options out there for the setup I have when it comes to setting this up unless someone can find an actuator that fits on top of the handle of the valve as shown in the image in the main post.
I’ll keep this thread up for folks to bounce ideas in as more options are found.
