The smartlife apps supports the sensor, and HA sees it, but lists it as unsupported with 0 entities. Please enable support for this as it makes for a decent workaround to myq when combined with ifttt.
There are quite a few Tuya integrations available in the HACS loader. I would check if one of those has your device.
Since the smartlife one is now official, shouldn’t the goal be to have 1 app for these, not overlapping tuya apps that each semi-function?
HA does not control what others contribute, and the speed at which new devices are added to the core Tuya is slow.
The Core one was written by Tuya themselves according to the Docs. They have not been jumping up and down to keep it updated apparently. Where Individuals doing their own version have been more up to date with it.
Remember, it’s open source. Things contributed to core still have to be maintained by (usually) the people that loaded it or get help from others.
