Snapshot recovery to larger sd card

i have a working 0.59.2 hassio install (with ssl encryption, mosquito broker, configurator, google home, etc) that won’t update due to a to small sd card.
now i have created a snapshot and build another hassio sd card (16GB) opened this fresh clean install 0.60 with samba addon. (to transfer te snapshot) but when i recover from that snapshot the home assistant never will come back online (no ssh, samba or webpage).

how do i fix this or better how to get a larger sd card with my working config running on the new 0.60 version

Id love to know if you managed to get this figured out. Im planning on upgrading my sd card to a faster one and will need to do the same thing.

Last I heard you needed to install the addons first before restoring the snapshot and then it should be good to go.

The snapshot contains the addons and their configuration. All you need do is install samba so you can copy the snapshot to the new install, then restore it. Don’t know why OP had an issue with it - maybe snapshot corrupt?

I have had EXACTLY the same issue. HA crashed April 24, 2019, on my Rasp Pi, tried command line ‘snapshot recover xxxxx’ got errors (I’ve recovered 2 times prior via hassio> command, OK) not this time. I DO keep backup copies of my Snapshots on my PC hard drive. I reloaded the latest image of HA, loaded all my ‘Add-Ons’ (including Samba). Samba worked, I have access to hassio, I can see the Configuration files, etc. HOW/Where do I transfer the Snapshot file to the SD card? Which directory do they go in? Do I need to un-pack the .tar file first (winrar works). I can find LOADS of info on how to make and store Snapshots but Nothing on how to use them on a crashed system recovery (outside of HA)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
