I am fairly new with HA and I am trying to get my Ring Doorbell to send my phone a snapshot when it detects motion. I already got the automation set that when it detects motion, it takes a snapshot and saves the image but when I click on the alert on my phone, it takes me to the dashboard. I would like it to just show the image instead or have it take me to the Ring camera so I can see who is at the door. How can I achieve this and what’s the best way to do it?
Should be as simple as using Standard Attachments in the companion app
@steelersmb please share the code you use to get the Ring Doorbell to take a snapshot. The standard methods (I’ve used several) do not force the Ring Doorbell to take a new snapshot, so HA will only pull in the last one the Ring itself took… which could be an hour ago, 10 mins ago, etc.
