Solario Local — looking for beta testers

Looking for Home Assistant solar users to test Solario Local
I’ve just released the first public beta of Solario Local a free Home Assistant app/add-on built specifically around solar PV.

Instead of building another general-purpose HA dashboard, I wanted something focused on one thing: making solar production, battery, grid usage and PV health easier to understand.

Solario reads the entities you already have in Home Assistant and tries to detect the important ones automatically.

The free beta currently includes:

live PV production and energy overview
battery status
grid import / export
home consumption
estimated solar savings
PV and string diagnostics
weather and solar conditions
up to 24 hours of history and charts
1 custom Solario automation
Czech + English interface

Now I need real-world testing.

I’ve mainly tested Solario with Alpha ESS, so I’m looking for people using different inverters, batteries and Home Assistant integrations who are willing to try it and tell me what breaks.

Early tester reward

The first 5 people who report a new, real and reproducible bug and help me identify the problem will receive the future SMART plan permanently for free.

SMART is planned to include:

up to 6 Solario automations
7 days of history
additional remote/cloud features
future SMART features and improvements

Solario Local is currently completely free to install and test.

If something doesn’t work, please tell me what inverter/integration you use and what happened. Screenshots or relevant logs are especially useful.

Despite having local in the name, this app is not local. It didn’t even ask for permission or at least inform you that it is transmitting data to the cloud the moment you start the app. I find it very suspicious that it is not mentioned here in the post above. Also I did not do any fancy sniffing, and I do not claim to be an expert, but I just read the app logs and one of the lines clearly says its transmitting data to the cloud, without telling me what is it transmitting and to whom despite it supposedly being “local”.

Don’t worry, the local account is truly just local; they are currently preparing a cloud version that will securely pull data from the local setup, but that isn’t available yet.

Beta testing update looking for more real solar setups

Thanks to everyone who has looked at or tested Solario Local so far.

I’m now focusing mainly on real-world compatibility testing with different Home Assistant solar installations.

I’m especially looking for people using setups such as Deye/Solarman, GoodWe, Huawei, Solax, Victron, Fronius or other inverter/battery integrations.

You don’t need to do any special testing — just install Solario Local, see whether it detects your system correctly, and let me know what works or doesn’t.

If you test it, please include your inverter + Home Assistant integration and ideally a screenshot or relevant log if something fails.

I’d really like to get Solario running on as many different real installations as possible

In this case, the issue really lies in the automatic detection of Solarman entities for Deye—Solario should discover them automatically, without the need to configure each entity manually. This is not the intended behavior, so I will investigate and fix it. If possible, please send the names of a few key Solarman entities you have in Home Assistant (PV power, grid, consumption, battery SOC, etc.). This will help me adjust the automatic mapping specifically for the Deye/Solarman configuration.

Your list of entities helped me improve the Deye/Solarman detection and better understand which entity names are actually used in Home Assistant.

I’m also improving the manual entity selection with search and filtering, so even if automatic detection fails, it should be much easier to find and select the correct sensor.

Quick Solario update

Solario has moved quite a bit since the first beta.

The goal is not to replace advanced Home Assistant setups or give you every single parameter. It is made for people who want to clearly understand what their solar system is doing and use it as efficiently as possible, without spending hours building dashboards and automations.

The latest version now includes a 7-day free PRO trial with no card and no automatic subscription.
