Public service announcement!
For years, I have been trying to get my Solax to talk to my batteries (after upgrading to the latest Pylontech, the BMS no longer worked), and to get it to talk to Home Assistant.
I was never able to get the Solax integrations to work as port 502 (Modbus) on the wired or wireless network just wouldn’t respond.
Today I finally solved it and I hope this helps others.
I always had my ethernet settings on the Solax set to DHCP, and then had my DHCP server always hand out the same fixed IP address. I prefer it this way because then I can manage the IP address from my computer rather than from a crappy 4 button panel.
Turns out that if you set it to a static IP address on the inverter, and then completely reboot it (power off mains, solar and battery), Modbus will then start responding.
I can’t believe it!!! I finally have it talking to Home Assistant, so I can finally get my solar automations working properly ![]()
