I’m trying to setup Mobus integration for my Solis inverter.
Rather then purchasing the standard Waveshare RS485 to RJ45 Ethernet Module am I right in thinking the wifi version here offers the same capability but instead is wifi enabled ?

Yes it should be the same. I have 2 inverters one has embedded server with exploded Apis the other is interfaced via WiFi modbus adapter.
In general the adapter converters the serial communication modbus side to tcp packets. These can then be transmitted over wire or via WiFi.
You obviously need WiFi coverage where you intend to place the converter.
Speed is not an issue as, normally, WiFi has a throughput some order of magnitude above the serial connection.
Latency is not a problem with inverters as you usually just read data, you’ll not do real time automation where even the ms matters.
thanks that helps clarify
