[SOLVED] Awair integration fails during setup

I’ve recently bought an Awair Element, and wanted to include it in my HA installation. It was detected alright, a new integration suggested, but when I enter the IP address I just get “Unexpected error”.

I checked the log, and what I see is:

Unexpected API error: The supplied access token is invalid or does not have access to the requested data

To be clear, this is for the “local API”, not the cloud API. Could it be that the Awair component hard-codes some access token that is not valid for newly manufactured devices? Before opening a bug on the component, I thought I should ask here if anyone else has seen this.

Here is the full log message:

Integration: Awair ([documentation](https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/awair), [issues](https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22integration%3A+awair%22))

Unexpected API error: The supplied access token is invalid or does not have access to the requested data

It seems likely to be the case that I have a faulty device. I’ve contacted Awair support.

Actually, this was the result of an IP conflict on my LAN! Very weird behavior. Anyway, I’m saving these series of post if anyone else runs into the same issue.
