I use the new Home Assistant backup system and I backup locally, to my NAS and to Google Drive. To install the Google Drive integration, I had to create a developer project, get an Oauth client, get a client ID and client secret. Once I did that stuff, it was pretty simple to add the Google Drive integration.
But about once a week, it tells me i have to re-authenticate, re-link Google Drive with my HA project. I like the new backup system, but I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. I can’t be the only one having this issue. Anyone know what this happens and how to deal with it?
Did you change the publishing status of your project to “In production”? If it’s still “Testing” you will have to re-authenticate every week. Once you change to “In production” it becomes permanent.
I remember actually setting it to testing on purpose because I recall posts where people said it had to be on testing, but perhaps I misread. I will make the change and I thank you for your response.
I did some reading, it seems there are sometimes verification requirements that can take a significant period of time if it’s production. Does anyone of this thread have experience with creating these credentials for a home assistant integration?
Just to close this topic, I changed to production, it did warn me that there might be further verification required based on scope (don’t know what that means), but after clicking OK, it didn’t ask for anything else and now I expect it will no longer need re-authorization.
