SOLVED: Light turn on with long transition broke my Hue light strip?

Today I was playing around trying to create a wake up light “transition” for my son - who has a Hue light strip attached to his bed.

To try one method I created an automation action using the light.turn_on with transition of 45s.

After running that action the light strip go stuck at ~4%, and is unreachable (or uncontrollable).

To fix the issue I tried;

  • Pulled out the plugged of the light strip - after reconnecting it lights up to ~4%.
  • Restarted HA (and Z2M).
  • Tried the re-pair dance 5 times (pull power 8s reconnect 2s). The light strip does not go into pairing mode. Just lights up to ~4% every time reconnected.

I’m on latest HA, running latest Z2M and Z2M reports the light strip as a Philips Hue model 8718699703424.

Any ideas on what more I can do?

Seems like a night without power fixed the issue. Sorry for the noise. :slight_smile:
