[SOLVED] Out of the blue now I get 403: Forbidden

Hi,
I have the same issue with 403 forbidden error, without any access remotly or with local ip. Yes I have Samba configured and SSH also. How Can i access and check the ip_bans.yaml
Thanks

I would use Samba, and then Notepad or Notepad++

many Thanks. i access to my files and clear ip_bans.yaml. but it seems that it need a repair of home assistant, i wonder if can be possible without re-installing all.

Happened here as well after running fine for years, no idea why, it only banned my remote/cloudlared entry. Removing bans fixed it. Thanks so much.

Thank you! I as stumbled until I saw your comment and reboot my system entirely :man_facepalming:

Simple solution to regain access and delete the ban from ipban is to simply use a VPN

This is a first for me. The easiest and fastest way to solve this issue. I logged into Home Assistant from another computer and then went to “File editor”. I went to the band ip address page and deleted the offender then restarted Home Assistant.

If that is an issue the do it from phone or tablet.

I have followed the advice on this thread to remote access error using nabu casa, but it keeps coming back. for me, it has not been a permanent solution. very annoying. does anyone know of a permanent fix?

Well just to say it’s still a thing  Thanks so much for this thread, sorry for bumping but really didn’t get what was happening and been looking all over the place, wouldn’t suspect something like this.
And indeed you have to restart after changing the ip_bans.yml

I just had this happen to me whilst I was editing my dashboard in my web browser. What the hell. Like honestly, this “feature” doesn’t work right AT ALL. I’ve had to remove phones, tablets, desktops, laptops from this ip_bans file over time. All have been added randomly and unjustly.
