[SOLVED] Skyconnect - change IEEE address?

I bought 2 skyconnect adapters to make sure that if one failed, I had another I could pop in to restore service. Both are the same version of firmware. During testing I found that when I put the backup device in, some devices would not connect, but some do just fine. I noticed the following article that describes the problem and some potential fixes which involve changing the IEEE address of the new adapter the same as the old one.

But I cannot seem to find a way to put the skyconnect into BSL mode.
So does anyone have a way of doing that or another way of making the IEEE address of the two adapters the same?

(I have no plans to put them both in place and they are clearly labelled LIVE and BACKUP.

Or alternatively can anyone recommend a zigbee co-ordinator can can be swapped over to another hardware unit in the case of failure with service restored without repairing?

The project

has a flash utility, but also an option to change the ieee address. It is recommended to reflash the device when changing this item, which I did, and my zigbee network is back as it was.
