[Solved] Z-wave suddenly stopped working after reboot

Hello! I had to physically move my Raspberry Pi 3, and when it booted back up HA is having trouble controlling my z-wave devices–both switches and lights. HA is controlling all other non z-wave devices as expected. In my logs I have:

homeassistant.components.zwave: zwave not ready after 30 seconds, continuing anyway

So it seems that the z-wave component is not starting…however, all of my z-wave devices show up on my dashboard as normal. If I try to turn one of them off or on from the dash, the UI responds accordingly, but the device does not turn off or on, and after a few seconds the switch on the dash flips back to its original state in the UI.

  • I have made zero changes to my configuration files in between it working fine and it not working
  • I have verified that I have the correct USB location in my configuration (/dev/ttyACM0)
  • I load open-zwave dash and everything seems normal there
  • I have verified my z-wave device names have not changed
  • I have tried using a different USB port
  • I have tried rebooting HA
  • I have tried rebooting the Pi

none of this works!

Any idea?

I am on HA 0.35.2 using Aeon Labs ZW090 Z Stick

UPDATE: SOLVED

I had brought the Pi up from the basement, where it had been running successfully from for months, to work on from my office. When I moved it back to the basement, I started to get these problems. I thought perhaps it was a range issue, and even though it is in the exact same location as it has been before, bringing the Pi back upstairs made it work again. So for some reason my basement decided to be a deadzone!
