I’m new here — just started exploring Home Assistant this week!
I’ve been reading through the forum, but most of the posts I found about Somfy integration seem a bit outdated (2022 etc…), so I figured I’d ask directly before making any purchases, just to be sure.
I’m trying to figure out how to integrate my Somfy roller shutters (they use Situo 1 IO remotes), and I’ll probably add a Somfy motorized gate later on.
From what I’ve read, it looks like we need to go through a Somfy hub, and the TaHoma Switch seems to be the go-to solution. But I also came across something called the Connectivity Kit — is that a viable alternative? I couldn’t find much info about it. Did I miss something more up to date or alternative ? ( is there any way to avoid buying a ~200€ box just to get HA integration? )
Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry if this has already been asked — just trying to make sense of it all!
Sadly you will need the Somfy Connectivity Kit in combination with the Overkiz integration. IO is a very closed system and unlike RTS there isnt an alternative like ESPSomfy.
It will be cloud based. but it will work… for now.
Thanks for confirming my assumptions.
Still, 79€ is better than the Tahoma Switch… but I will wait for it !
I hadn’t updated my opinion on Somfy in a long time — I didn’t know they had moved to a closed, cloud-based system.
Looks like it’s time to switch to something else.
Hi we are working on a local solution. Working with lora hardware. It is currenly “only” working with the 1W protocol. But we have already made quite some progress. The screens are automatically added to hass via MQTT but can also be accessed from a local webbrowser. If you are interested to test give me a note.
The screens can be controlled via the 1W remote protocol. That part is now stable. It has been installed by already quite some people. Now still working on the 2w communication part.
