Somfy Venation Blinds

Hi All

I have somfy Controlled Venation Blinds all over my home, just the ones that open and close. The problem is they don’t report a state so you can never work out in Home Assistant if they are open or closed. Not a huge issue but annoying all the same. but what is really annoying is in the Tahoma App you can select Open to a predetermined position or Close but in Home Assistant via the OverKiz Custom Integration the two options are: Open to the predetermined position or Tilt. so if you want to close them you need to repeat the Tilt option a number of times and sometimes they don’t close all the way due to multiple calls to multiple blinds.

In Apple Home you can create a Shortcut to call the close option from the App and this works well. But obviously needs to be on all home occupants phones as you cant run app options from the Home Hub.

Sine the Somfy control is kept in the cloud (it must be as I can control when away from home) why is there not a close option anywhere? of am I missing it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike

You could add a tilt sensor to each… I’m sure there are angle sensors you could connect to each and every blind should you so be inclined. (see what I did there)

Could you add some sort of combined counter timer between commands in the integration to give you some indication of how far the motor has turned, and add/subtract from that running value to keep track of your blind position?

Thanks but the position is not really the big issue, though it would be nice. Its more the being able to issue a close blind command from HA rather than multiple tilts.

@MikeVastano you can create an issue on GitHub with more information and your diagnostics. If you are using the cloud version, we are able to see your last commands via the TaHoma app and can see if we can implement this in the HA integration.
