Sonoff Basic ( tasmota ) New ip address after reboot

Hi Guys
How can I solve the problem with my Sonoff devices getting a different IP address after I have a power outage? I don’t really want to assign a fixed IP address to each Sonoff basic ?

Thanks, guys

You are likely currently letting your DHCP Server (‘Router’) assign IPs. This is why they can get a different IP sometimes.

You will either need to assign and IP on the device itself or setup a DHCP reservation in your router. The former can cause issues when another device takes the IP you assigned because it was assigned by your DHCP server.

edit: I thought tasmota had an IP option but it looks like it doesn’t. DHCP reservation is the only option, and really the best option in this case.

Hi Silvrr
Thanks for the reply , how would a setup a IP address on the device

What do most of us HA do ?

Thanks

I recommend setting up a DHCP reservation in your router. This is the best approach IMO.
