For motion automation without custom firmware and original eWeLink firmware, I would like to use the Sonoff SV with a standard PIR (dry output or any voltage).
PIR sensor triggers on motion detection
Sonoff SV changes ON/OFF state
eWeLink Scene reacts to that state (to trigger other connected devices)
I am looking for the correct setup and wiring on the Sonoff SV.
any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
This was the first thing that a Google search brought up. In what way is the vendor documentation inadequate? Are you intending to use it in a different role?
I note the following on the web page however: Power supply separation enables it to control both AC and DC power, although some welding is required for this purpose. (my emphasis added) which may cause alarm. Welding?
What PIR are you considering? How is that going to be added to HomeAssistant and what sensors will be exposed for your automation needs? Does it need to be connected to the Sonoff physically and electrically, or just logically through HomeAssistant and other automation?
It's been going on for much longer than 4 years & doesn't just affect Sonoff manuals.
You can try it out yourself in Google translate. Both "soldering" & "welding" translate to Hànjiē (焊接), but it you flip the translation order, you only get "welding" in the translation results.
Nothing to be alarmed about - it's just linguistics. Anyone with an ounce of common sense can infer what they meant.
Thank you for your reply.
I am not looking to turn devices on/off with the Sonoff SV, but to turn on/off other sonoff devices, while triggering the SonOff SV with a standard dry contact from a PIR.
PIR motion → trigger Sonoff SV → eWeLink Scene → turn on another Sonoff for X minutes.
It seems that the onboard button is the only input that eWeLink firmware actually monitors. I will try to connect (soldering) to the button and test it.
I don't know your device, but since that button is the only one onboard, it probably has multiple functions. Something like factory reset on long press is common on sonoff devices. If so, adjust your PIR timing carefully.
