I am trying to install a Sonoff ZBMini (not the L2 version) with a two-way switch, but I am not having any luck. Perhaps it has to do with how we tend to wire lights in the Netherlands. Does anyone have this working, and perhaps has a tip for me? My wiring diagram is below. Do I need to run a dedicated N wire to the light for this to work? I do have an N wire where I want to put the ZBMini (the green highlighted area).
You don’t have an “L” there. It probably needs both “L” and “N” to work.
Hmm, maybe I should just see if I can fit the ZBmini into the ceiling where the light is. Then I guess it will work as if there is just 1 switch. Pulling 2 extra cables is quite a hassle and I think my conduit is already full.
You could put it in the light fixture, but if someone toggled the light switch off then the device goes offline.
There’s this hack using diodes to keep the device online
But you probably don’t need to do this anymore especially with later version of sonoff mini (zbminiL2 & extreme) that don’t require neutral & less work for existing wiring
