Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Errno 2

I did a cold reboot of Home Assistant this morning and the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle is no longer connecting (didn’t change any configurations, just rebooted network, routers and HA).

Error is:

Failed setup, will retry: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: ‘/dev/serial/by-id/usb-ITead_Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_c8b7e548470dec119936d5cebd930c07-if00-port0’

I have the dongle attached via Ethernet Cable (USB to Ethernet) I’ve checked all cables and everything is fine.

I installed all pending updates to HA and rebooted, still nothing.

Any troubleshooting ideas?

SOLVED (Posting in case anyone else has this issue)

Plugged the Dongle Directly into HA box and restarted.

Then took Dongle to position and plugged it into the USB to Ethernet Cable.

All is good again.

My main suspect is this ^^

What USB to ethernet cable are you using? Some kind of USB extender over cat5?

Using:

Cable Matters USB Over Ethernet Extender with Power Adapter up to 150 ft - Full USB 2.0 Support

For some reason, HA didn’t pick it up from cold boot; I’ve had it installed since last May and this is the first time it’s caused any issues.

Have you ever cold booted since you installed it though?

Adding my similar experience. After physically shifting my Sonoff dongle E without disconnecting anything, I noted this error the next day. Tried HA restart then HA reboot (RPi 4) but didn’t resolve. Then I unplugged the USB cable from the dongle and reconnected, and error immediately disappeared and hasn’t returned.

Maybe the error is triggered by a USB connection issue, which disconnecting and reconnection would resolve (for both straight USB and USB-etho).
