just a quick one if anyone can please comments on which one is best to go with?
my kits are generally, aqara and ikea. I’m interested in getting frytur blinds and I heard it works “okay” with conbee. have not heard anyone’s experience on using sonoff with frytur.
I think the Sonoff is a newer version of Zigbee. I was deciding between the two and went with the Sonoff. So far I’m just using some IKEA bulbs. It’s suggested to update the firmware on the Sonoff dongle. I found a difficult to follow guide but managed to figure it out using Terminal on a Mac.
I have Raspbee II and my raspberryPi 4 has an aluminum alloy case, so I soldered an external antenna to Raspbee II - signal quality was 220-255lqi. I connected a USB 3 SSD and had to move zigbee antenna away from it to get rid off radio noise. So now I have Sonoff Zigbee 3.o USB dongle and signal quality is 100 and may be N/A very often. I am very disappointed with the purchase of Sonoff Zigbee 3 USB. And a purchase I’m considering is Conbee II. Or can anyone advise me sothething better?
Do you made a choice already?
I have both sticks at home. Always used the conbee ii without any problems.
Recently I bought a sonoff just to try. Flashed new firmware and already had some problems.
Sometimes, if I restart HA I need to remove the antenna of the stick because otherwise it won’t start up somehow and it’s giving me an error. Maybe I go back to conbee later but I’m still in my trial period. Haven’t had any different reactions from lamps or sometinf till now
