Sonoff Zigbee devices dropping offline?

I have Sonoff Zigbee PIR and door sensors, which I use with a Sonoff Zigbee Bridge (running Tasmota). One by one, over time, pretty much all of the sensors have disassociated themselves from the Zigbee Bridge. The Zigbee Map on the bridge shows them disconnected from Coordinator, and HA no longer receives MQTT messages from them,
Has anyone else had this problem?

I had similar issues when I first got the Sonoff bridge and PIR sensors. Three things have helped solve the issue for me:

  1. The batteries that came with the motion sensors are trash, replace them with a quality brand.
  2. The batteries often have poor contact with the terminals. Place a small piece of foam behind the inner-most terminal to push it forward into better contact with the battery OR place a conductive shim like a washer between the battery and inner terminal.
  3. Build out your zigbee mesh with router devices like lightbulbs and switches.

Should I worry if a Zigbee device is disconnected from the Coordinator? (as per the diagram below)

The disconnected device (pir-study) still seems to be registering events on the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge, so can I assume that it is not an issue if it disconnects from the Coordinator?
