Sonos ZP120 together with new Play:1

Hi all! First post!

I don’t want to wait anymore on proper Denon Heos Support so I’ve sold half of my system and want to use Sonos instead. I can get a good deal on a Sonos ZP120 (Same as Connect:AMP) but I see it might use another form of SonosNet(?) I’m going to plug it to ethernet, while I will add some Sonos Play:1 later.

Just asked if someone could kindly confirm if this will work together with Home Assistant? I don’t want to do like others have done with Heos, namely buying an old Heos1 when they needed a Heos1 HS2 for example.

Thanks in advance if anyone can share some insights

As far as I am aware Sonos connects via the Sonos bridge or boost (mesh network) or via your own WiFi. Maybe this is where the confusion re a different type of Sonos net is coming in??

I personally use the bridge as I find better connectivity and less channel interference. I don’t have a zp120 but I do have a zp90 which is essentially the same thing but without the amplifier built in.

The kit I bought came with a bridge free but like I said it isn’t essential especially if you are connecting via Ethernet
