I’m about to purchase the Soundavo WS66i. Before I pull the trigger, I’m confused if HA (Home Assistant) can control the WS66i amplifier simply through the Ethernet port or does it have to be connected via the RS-232 cable?
My new setup:
Fully smart home (new house/under construction)
Hoping to run HA via Raspberry Pi (any other suggestions?)
All Kasa Smart Light switches
Looking to add motion sensors (undecided)
ReoLink security cameras
Confused about the audio system, since unsure of the above
Audio setup:
4 x bedroom, each with TV’s and 2 pairs of in-ceiling speakers (each)

This definately has the integration - just unsure how to make it communicate it with HA - getting mixed information. Some say with RS232
The RS232 is for the Monoprice amp; it does not have an ethernet port. The WS66i amp on the other hand can be controlled by Home Assistant just be connecting the amp to the network via an ethernet cable.
I am looking at that for some time already.
DAX88 does have ethernet port too but I recently discovered, that even though the integration is still by RS.
WS66i integration is by TCP/ethernet which is much better imo.
DAX88 is much better with specs though as it has better amplification (25W on ws66i vs 75W on dax88).
So I would like to know if it is possible to integrate DAX88 to HA through TCP/IP and not some old school tech from the 90s (which I remember well).
I have more than 8 zones to power so I will be adding slave unit.
This is becoming even tougher as soundavo’s second unit EXT66 is cheaper than DAYTON’s second DAX…
To make it even mroe complicated - Spotify connect is important to me.
And I want it as native as possible.
Ideal scenario would be to have separate devices available in spotify app (for zones) (only configured once in the amp app) and have it as transparent as possible - the best would be - without even noticing there is an audio system involved.
another question to DAX vs WS66i is:
DAX88 has only one wireles input while WS66i has two, which means that with DAX only one user can stream spotify to his zones and the other user cannot use spotify.
with ws 66i we have 2 users playing simulatneously.
Anyone?
