The integration you maintain here is exactly the kind of serial / Modbus / ESPHome work that makes Home Assistant special. We've built Home Assistant Connect AUX-2: two RS-232 serial ports exposed inside Home Assistant as a serial proxy over Ethernet/PoE (or Wi-Fi), built on ESPHome and adopted like any ESPHome device. It's RS-232 natively, but Modbus/RS-485 gear works too with a standard off-the-shelf RS-232-to-RS-485 adapter — so heat pumps, inverters and energy meters are in reach as well. We'd love to get one into your hands early to try with your hardware and help us make it work beautifully. You likely just need to assign yourself the developer roll (as stated at the bottom of the screenshot you posted)
