Trying to clean up dozens of Spook issues, I have one that I can’t find.

While floating around, Spook crossed path with the following dashboard:

Home

This dashboard references the following entities, which are unknown to Home Assistant:

  • button.smarttag1_ring

It doesn’t ring a bell (pun), but I don’t recall ever creating this entity. I did a grep of every file in /config and found this in two files in .storage:

homeassistant.exposed_entities
lovelace.lovelace.hasp

Any ideas?

Delete it, let God sort it out was my take on weird ones like that…
Some I knew, some not.
Using Studio code server I found most of it, but if I couldn’t remember, I made sure I had a backup and just killed them.
(I had almost 70 errors at one point)

Thanks, but my understanding is that editing anything in .storage is risky.

Agree.
I meant it’s in the dashboard somewhere according to the error. find it there.

If I could find it. It isn’t in any yaml file and when I expand the grep search to all files (.) it only appears in two files in .storage.

Open your Home dashboard. Go into raw edit mode. Click somewhere in the yaml, Then Ctrl + f to search for the entity.

Entities which are “exposed” You Could also find in /Settings/Voice-Assistant, And you might be able to “Delete” it from the “homeassistant.exposed_entities” file through the UI this way

As for the “Dashboard” file, This could be “related” to i.e a " template or i.e auto-entities-card",
( where this “exposed-added-Entity” ( button.smarttag1_ring) is “Called” ( Meaning it’s really not hard-coded in the Dashboard, but “loaded” from a template/auto-load function in a card" or similar

Seems like an “open” entry, something in “edit mode”

But you really need to “specify” whether you have a dashboard like this “Name” hasp / lab1 , etc ,

If for some reason you don’t have such a dashboard " lovelace.lovelace.hasp " , In your Views , You should be safe to just delete it from the .storage folder

Disregard above if you don’t feel comfortable to also edit i.e the lovelace.lovelace/lovelace_dashboards files :laughing:

But I finally found the entity in a subview.

Spook have “spooked” me before, claiming i had an “entity” somewhere, as You i had no idea what “Homie” was talking about, as i didn’t have “such” an entity anymore …
Turned out he was right ( Homie needs an AI-friend, who can fix such, or specify more specific :grin: )
