After reading through the sprinkler controller docs, to me, this could also be used as an underfloor hydronic controller system. Even a whole house water-based heating controller. That factored with opentherm and bam, you can control the heating of your house with ease, no more expensive systems.
Robustness of esp’s might be an issue, but I’ve found that power supplies are the main problem.
