Is anyone else’s Starling hub having trouble logging into their Google account? I’m wondering if it’s related to the AWS outage from this morning, but I have no idea how to confirm that. Right now, I can’t access any of my Google devices at all.
No. It’s the starting home hub. It easily integrates Google nest devices into Homekit to easy add and use on Home Assistant.
They have unfortunately stopped making them, so I assume support will end soon as well.
Oh, that one.
same answer.
It appears thought Google Home is more messed up than the Cloudflare and AWS was.
Do some searching here to mind many posts about it.
Starling hub is fine here.
Seeing your topic I tried first with the desktop link I saved, and it didn’t take. But my iPhone app worked to connect with the Starling Hub. I found the desktop bookmark IP address was off, and was able to fix that.
(I’m in NorthEast USA, if location matters)
Are you able to log in to you Google account and access your Nest devices?
Yes, the Google Home app shows all 7 units are online and operable.
My Google Home app works just as it should. The Starling Hub still refuses to connect to my Google account. Hopefully a fix is in the works.
There are times my HAGreen / HomeKit / Hue / ZHA / Synology network would frustrate like that, and the last thing tried that got it all working again was to start with rebooting the ONT & Routers, and then the various hubs. That likely addressed a different sort of problem, but it couldn’t hurt to give it a try if all else fails you. Best of luck.
Well, I’m going to assume that my Hub is dead. I believe it has to do with the preview firmware, as others have said that their Starling Hubs are still working.
It’s been two weeks since I emailed support and have not received a response. I wish when these companies went under that they would open source the firmware.
