I’ve been round and round and all guidance expects me to see things on the OS that I cant. All research says the OS is not installed properly, however I am following the steps. I am flashing from downloaded file on the local pc and copying to drive USB. It completes okay and I update the Bios, to not run windows, disable secure boot, ensure UEFI and it runs and I see the black screen and get into the home assistance, but the UI is wrong every single time. I cant add views etc to dashboards, configure my Coordinator properly to see devices. I know the network setup is fine by the logs. THe whole thing points to the OS. Help!
Please let us know what you mean by this.
Logs instead of opinions would help us also.
Shooting from the Hip, you are having a DNS problem and the router is reporting info different than you expect.
The online guidance says i should expect to see the mini pc load without usb with a replacement install. UI guidance expects “add ons” in settings but i only see apps. The logs for the mini pc are good, so is the bridge. However the bridge cannot see a compatible device from the same brand. I think its the install which holds the firmware. The device operates radio 1 and frequency 2.4 which is the same as wireless network.
I will need to set it up again and check logs. Here is the diagram for awareness.
Quite frankly the forum is going to need far more info before they are even going have a chance of understanding what you are asking. so answer these and we may get somewhere.
Which guide did you follow to install HA?
Which version have you installed?
What hardware are you trying to connect?
Show us a screengrab of the UI you think is wrong?
The guide you’re following is outdated. Addons was renamed to Apps a few months ago.
Always follow the official HA Docs to ensure you have up to date info.
The word Add-on has been replaced with Apps some months ago now. If you see this you should raise an issue at the source to get the wording fixed.
Hello All, thank you for your help. Bare with me.
@Arh

I am trying to pair a device and it cannot be seen: TRVs
I’ve checked the radio traffic on my network and decided to use channel 25 instead of 11.
So you followed this guide then???
You said you were being told the OS was installed wrong, now you are showing us a screen grab of zigbee2mqtt which is an addon not the OS. I think it may be an idea to read the docs from the start to understand how HA works.
So what zigbee coordinator are you trying to use?
Huh? I know how OS works. This is not an OS issue. Your question or answer was not helpful.
I’ve identified its was conflicting radio traffic. Thanks for the wealth of insight.
Hi, maybe you have forgotten, but the title and original post of this thread is regarding the OS. Are you still having issues with the OS or have you moved on to other issues?
