Sudden strange errors never seen before

Suddenly after upgrading to 0.102.3 i am seeing in the log all those errors.

skyq media player is a custom component. The error is coming from that. Go to the custom component page and verify that you have an up to date version. If you have the most recent version, report the issue there.

And for future reference, when you get errors like this, you can figure out where they come from by reading the files listed in the error. That’s all i did. Start at the bottom and work up. Notice that the last file says ‘skyq/media_player’. So, after that, I just looked in the integrations for skyq media player. Noticed that it was not there and did a google search to find that it was custom.

Ok thanks… But it seems i have the latest…

then you should write up an issue with the component on github.

Maybe i found where is the problem… i installed a custom widget for hadashboard media_player widget that maybe is too old and caused troubles to the custom component. I removed it and now it seems the errors are gone away…

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. It’s coming from the custom component. There’s a dictionary of sources that the component uses and it’s calling a get. When get’s fail, they return a None object. This is the root cause. It’s definitely a bug in the component. The media_player widget might have the wrong source list and that could also be a bug there. But the component should account for that.

Ok i’ll check better and eventually i’ll open an issue…
Thanks.

Or you could have seen custom_components in the path, too:

File "/config/custom_components/skyq/media_player.py"

my ignore full path coding visors must have been on :joy:
