Hello, folks.
I moved to a new place and planning a Home Assistant automation setup from scratch.
I’m looking for a touch panel PC (for lack of a better term) that I can use to mount on the wall for main UI and to run the Home Assistant, as well. (All-in-one unit).
Previously, I had an old laptop hidden away running home assistant on proxmox and the main UI display as a separate device. Trying to avoid this. I’m in China - if you know good devices here.
Please advise
The screen is not used normally on the HA server PC.
Access is thru a web browser or a mobile app in most cases.
You could get a Raspberry Pi and the Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 and mount that.

I found this wall mount bracket:
I stumbled on this add-on that will let you use a screen connected to your local HA instance, so I think that would round things out:
Oh, nice! I’ll look more into this.
Regarding the bracket proposed. Nice look, but in China all walls are concrete, while this bracket takes advantage of ease of furring into drywall. I’ll need to come up with a different setup.
I don’t understand the reasoning why you want to do it all in one place.
A pie isn’t overpowered for HA usage so it’s not like there is CPU power just used for nothing.
Then there is the risk of something going wrong with the frontend which now is also tied up with the backend. Does that mean both get destroyed if frontend fails, maybe.
I prefer to keep my pie doing what it should do and have other units do what they should do.
Here’s the “official” case (US site, sorry). It has an option to wall mount it. You still have to figure out cable management, but you were going to have that issue anyway with concrete walls.
