Hi,
I have just bought a RF bridge and I am now looking to get a sensor for my outside gate, I have seen the Sonoff Door / Window sensor which would work but it’s not weather proof.
Can anyone suggest an equivalent which can survive the elements?
Regards
James
Look into this:
https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-5816OD-Outdoor-Wireless-Magnetic/dp/B00683AMTW/ref=sr_1_52?dchild=1&keywords=Gate+open+close+Sensor&qid=1603140846&sr=8-52
Maybe buy a cheap hubitat hub and put it within range indoors.
I can’t figure out if it’s Z-Wave or what it is.
NVM looks like 345mhz. Weird frequency…
Thats the type of thing I am looking for, apart from the frequency being 345mhz, it’s not cheap! $84 + $30 postage

Can you not make the sensor waterproof? I don’t know how the Sonoff sensors work but I assume it’s the same principle as the Xiaomi ones with two magnets that need to have contact to show closed. If so, you could just put them in a plastic case or something similar that is waterproof and it’ll continue to work as long as the magnets are able to get contact when the door is closed.

Good suggestion, the Sonoff one’s are cheap enough that if the waterproofing fails you can replace them.
