SUMRY HGX 4.5kW + My Power WiFi dongle – Home Assistant integration

Hi everyone,
I have a SUMRY HGX 4.5kW / 24V hybrid inverter.
It uses the newer SUMRY WiFi dongle with COM / NET / POW LEDs (see attached photo).
This inverter/dongle is not compatible with SmartESS. It uses a different mobile application called My Power.
I have also contacted SolarAssistant, and they confirmed that the SUMRY HGX 4.5kW is currently not supported.
I would like to integrate this inverter into Home Assistant, preferably using the local network and without relying on the cloud.
Has anyone already reverse-engineered the communication protocol used by the My Power app / WiFi dongle, or integrated this particular SUMRY HGX model into Home Assistant?
I would like to obtain data such as:
PV voltage
PV current
PV power
battery voltage
battery current
battery SOC
battery charging/discharging power
AC input
AC output/load
inverter status
daily PV energy
monthly PV energy
I’m particularly interested in finding out:

  1. What protocol does the WiFi dongle use?
  2. Does it expose a local TCP/IP connection?
  3. Is there a known IP address/port or protocol?
  4. Is the communication between the dongle and inverter RS232/RS485?
  5. Has anyone captured/reverse-engineered the communication between the My Power app and the dongle?
I can provide screenshots from the My Power app, network information, WiFi dongle details, etc.
    Thanks!
