Tried restarts, reboots, etc. It’s supposed to show up automatically in the Dashboard. Suggestions as to how to fix this? I don’t want to have to edit the configuration file. It was tough enough to (hopefully) get the local site recognized so as to be given reasonable sunrise, sunset, etc. data. Should I take the drastic action of removing and re-adding it?
What did you install that gave you that impression? Usually cards (if that is what you installed) need to be manually added. Integrations add entities that might be automatically added to some types of automated dashboards. The Sun integration is part of the default configuration, so those entities should be there already, just maybe not shown on the type of dashboard you use.
Manually creating dashboards can be done in the GUI, so if you are worried about yaml files, don’t be.
It won’t let me manually add it to the Dashboard as it says it’s already installed, even if I delete and re-add it. And, yes, it shouldn’t have needed to be dealt with at all. I just use the default Dashboard. I guess I worry about a customized Dashboard getting lost or overridden. FWIW, I just updated to the latest version oF HA, which made no difference. Cannot seem to find a way to get my eWeLink devices onto the Dashboard, either.
You have complete control over manual dashboards and they are backed up alongside your config backups.
It is the automatic dashboard that can change on you any time the Frontend developers decide to implement something new. They choose what you see, and the Sun integration entities are not currently included (AFAIK, I don’t use the auto dashboard).
Implementing a manual dashboard does not preclude you having a separate automatic dashboard. You can have both.
That is very helpful, thank you. I will give it a shot and see if I can get other add-ons to show up then, as well. Much appreciated advice!
