I’m running into an issue with the Supervisor UI not appearing at all on a completely clean installation of Home Assistant OS, and I’d appreciate input from anyone familiar with HAOS 17.x or the 2026.x Supervisor/Frontend changes.
Not really enough info so I thought I should add this …
System details
- Home Assistant Core: 2026.4.4
- Home Assistant OS: 17.2
- Supervisor: 2026.04.0
- Docker: 29.3.1
- Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 (aarch64)
- Install type: Fresh HAOS install on a fully wiped and reformatted SD card
- System status: Healthy, Supported, Supervisor API OK, Version API OK
The issue
- The Supervisor panel does not appear anywhere in the sidebar or in Settings.
- The Add-ons section is also missing.
- Navigating directly to
/hassioloads the Matter Server panel, not the Supervisor dashboard. - This happens immediately after onboarding, before any configuration or add-ons are installed.
- The system is not in Safe Mode (confirmed via System Info and available menus).
- A full OS-level reboot does not change anything.
- A full clean reinstall (SD card wiped and re-flashed) does not change anything.
What I’ve confirmed
- Supervisor is running normally in the backend.
- System Info shows all green: healthy, supported, connected, synchronized.
- No errors in System → Repairs related to Supervisor or panel loading.
- This is not a leftover config issue — the SD card was fully reformatted before reinstalling.
- This is not a cache or browser issue — tested across devices and incognito sessions.
What I suspect
This appears to be a frontend panel registration issue in HAOS 17.x / Supervisor 2026.x, where the Supervisor panel is not being mounted and the /hassio route is being claimed by the Matter Server panel instead.
What I need help with
- Is this a known regression in HAOS 17.x or Supervisor 2026.x?
- Is there a way (without SSH) to force the Supervisor panel to re-register?
- Has the Supervisor UI been moved or gated behind a new setting in the 2026.x builds?
- Are others seeing the same behaviour on fresh installs?
Any guidance from people running the same OS/Supervisor versions would be very welcome.
If this is the first time you have tried Home assistant can I suggest you read the docs. If not the first time I appologise for being blunt.
/ Settings , is the “Supervisor-Panel”
/ Add-Ons , Is Now Called /Apps
/ Devices&x Is where you Find /Integrations
Etc.
