Support for Simpled Smart Locks

Interesting that you’ve gone the whole way of virtualising the lock into a usable lock entity, where my approach was simply to report on the status. Nice one!

Yes it seems a lot for a problem that shouldn’t exist ! I never had this issue on the older Simpled Hub

Just to confirm tho, the lock isn’t actually unlocked after 2 minutes ? Its just the g6 misreports its state ?

Yes the state just changes, not the lock

This changes to 2 (unlocked) from 1 (locked) after 1-2 mins:

Thanks for the tips, I’ve used the above and it works really welll, although I have to admit that the TTlock integration is pretty solid and quick too.

I cant get the g6 hub to pair with my home assistant, it flashes red/blue showing its in (matter) pairing mode, but just doesn’t complete the connection before the hub flashes just red and then eventually home assistant complains that it cant connect to the device.

I’m using the normal matter addon in HA, which I’ve used before to pair other matter over wifi devices via the mobile app, and that worked fine, but it did take a while to pair, which is why I suspect its a timeout issue.

If I use the ttlock app, it asks for a matter hub to connect to, I choose HA and it also fails.

Anyone got any clues ?

UPDATE:- If I try to pair the device using the QR code, but don’t power it on, the matter pairing screen just hangs at ‘searching for device’.

If I try it again, but with the device actually powered on, it immediately goes to ‘connecting to device’, but goes no further.

Finally got it working by pairing it to the ttlock app first (after a few attempts), then pairing it again with HA. That detected the matter g6 hub, but there are huge number of missing controls like adding and removing codes, which I guess I will have to continue to do in the ttlock app.

But critically, I have no lock entity exposed, only a switch. Toggling this does nothing, despite the fact I paired the g6 to the lock in the ttlock app beforehand.

Disappointing.

Reinterviewing the device via the matter web ui has exposed a lock entity!

I’m testing it now, but it appears to work fine. I will update more as I go.

Let us know if your lock entity goes to unlocked after a minute or so

It took 4 minutes, but it just silently changed the lock state entity without actually locking or unlock the lock. So yeah, seems I get the same issue.

A few other things to note:-

Power cycling the g6 hub resets all the configuration entity values in home assistant, like the auto relock time goes back to 60 seconds, regardless of what you’ve set it before. This does not seem to actually affect the timings on the lock itself.

And the battery level is now just the word ‘normal’ rather than a percentage (which it used to be when I used the ttlock integration), which I think is a big downgrade.

On the plus side, much much quicker response when requesting lock or unlock.

That’s a shame. An issue with this is I find is that when it goes into “fake unlocked mode” the lock entity thinks its unlocked so if you send an unlock command to it in HA, it does not respond, I need to send lock, pause then unlock. That’s why I created the Virtual lock above

If I simply use the lock.lock command, or the lock.unlock command, then it will work, regardless of the real state of the lock, or the lock entity, whether its in sync or not.

lock.lock always locks the lock, and lock.unlock always unlocks it.

So it does, its the toggle switch that needs moving to lock then unlock

However, I do seem to get the lock state going out of sync pretty easily.

For example, I have auto lock set to 10 seconds, which it does after an unlock command, but then it weirdly locks the lock again after about a minute. (it actually re-locks, I can hear the lock locking)

Yes, same thing happens with mine

I think this is because the config options (for like auto-lock time delay) keep defaulting to 60 seconds, but in the ttlock app, its set to 10s, so its like its doing it twice.

I think until the firmware is better, and I get better battery visibility, I’ll stick with the g2 gateway and the ttlock integration. At this point, its just more reliable.

Shame 2 out of 10.

Is the lock actually working locally or still needing to be tethered to the cloud?

The lock does work locally when using the matter integration. It doesn’t need the internet.

I confirm, using the matter integration, everything is controlled locally, its just a bit flakey.

But even without a gateway, you do have local control over the lock via bluetooth, you just dont get any integration with Home Assistant.

I have the same G6 gateway, what is the light status on the device it self when it is working for you guys?, the manual says its suppose to be constant blue, but mine always blinks blue and looses all connections if unplugged, and also I’m still not sure if this is a local communication the delay is about the same as with the G2 gateway.
